AUTHOR’S PREFACE TO FOURTH EDITION.
I so much regret Ihal many people have had to wait for the book, or been unable to get it. he paper restrictions and difficulties of prin’ing and binding have been great. At first the publisher started with amodest edition of 2,000, not knowing what sort of reception the book would have. Now that we know that people not only need the book but really want it we hope to be able to keep it in print, instead of perforce having it so often “reprinting,” as it has been in the /irst few months of its existence.
