If you’re ever in Toledo, Ohio, on the Hungarian side of town, Tony Packo’s got the greatest Hungarian hot dogs. Thirty-five cents.

Corporal Max Klinger

On the Feb 24, 1976 episode of the classic television comedy show M*A*S*H, Corporal Max Klinger (Jamie Farr), the crazy medical corpsman put Tony Packo’s in the hot dog cultural spotlight.

Packo’s was mentioned in six of the 250 episodes of M*A*S*H. The final episode in 1983 was once the most-watched TV show in history.

Klinger, Farr, and the greatest Hungarian hot dog eatery are all from Toledo. Tony Packo opened his restaurant in 1932. There are now five outlets around the northern Ohio city.

The original Packo’s landmark is decorated with M*A*S*H memorabilia, including glass-encased hot dog buns autographed by celebrities ranging from Bing Crosby to Alice Cooper.
